TeamTom MarcusTom has been involved in the technology sector for over twenty years. At Woodside Capital, Tom will focus on consumer-facing software and internet/mobile companies, with particular attention on the gaming sector across all platforms; online advertising; and the mobile space. Tom began his technology career in 1986 as the VP of Business Development and General Counsel for Broderbund Software, Inc., an entertainment and education software company that published such well-known titles as Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego?, Myst, and Prince of Persia. Tom also led the M&A initiatives at Broderbund. More recently, Tom was the CEO of PureDepth, Inc., a publicly-traded IP licensing company in the 3D technology/display space. Prior to PureDepth, Tom was the CEO of Everyone.net, a hosted-services email company that was recently sold to Proofpoint. He also was the Executive Vice President at Flycast Communications, a first-generation online ad network that was sold in 2000 for $2.3 billion. He has done extensive work with overseas companies as well, both in Europe and in Asia. Tom received his undergraduate degree from Yale University and also has a law degree from the University of California, Berkeley, School of Law (Boalt Hall). He is on the Board of Governors of the Robert Packard Center for ALS Research at Johns Hopkins and is also on the Board of Directors of the Carlston Family Foundation. |
