TeamJeffrey S. Karan - Founding Partner Mr. Karan is the Founder of Woodside Capital Partners, a FINRA registered investment bank located in the heart of Silicon Valley, California. He has a deep knowledge of the capital raising and merger & acquisition processes, particularly as it relates to emerging technology and life science companies. Mr. Karan has devoted considerable energy to developing relationships in public and private companies, academia and industry trade organizations, and is a frequent speaker on investment banking topics internationally. Mr. Karan has over 25 years of investment banking and corporate advisory experience including 12 years at Morgan Stanley and Goldman Sachs prior to founding Woodside Capital Partners. Mr. Karan brings a unique perspective regarding issues around company valuation, corporate finance strategy, the aggregation of assets (including IP), capital raising, partnership negotiation, and merger & acquisition execution (both buy and sell-side) that are integral to the life cycle of high-growth companies. Mr. Karan holds an MBA from Dartmouth’s Amos Tuck School of Business Administration (Amos Tuck Scholar, 1980), a BA in Economics from Dartmouth College (Cum Laude, 1979), and an MA in Comparative Philosophy and Religion (1996). He is a past Board Member of the National Association of Corporate Directors, Silicon Valley Chapter (SVNACD). Mr. Karan is an avid cyclist, swimmer and skier. He is also passionate about philosophy, the history of ideas, educational methods, poker theory, and global economic analysis. He lives with his wife, a member of the Clinical Faculty at Stanford Hospital, and twin daughters in Woodside, California. |
